I want to make the process of booking and attending sessions as simple and comfortable as possible. Below, you’ll find details on how to book an appointment, the options available for virtual and in-person sessions, and what to expect during our time together.

How to Book a Session

Online Appointment Booking

(Preferred Method)

After your initial intake appointment, you can schedule follow-up sessions through our online booking system, JaneApp. This platform also sends appointment reminders, intake forms, and receipts.

Steps to Book:​

  1. Click 'Book Now' button (on the website): This will take you directly to the JaneApp system.

  2. Select Your Appointment: Choose the session type, preferred date, and time.

  3. Enter Your Information: Fill in the required details and confirm your booking.

📌 Note: Appointment times are listed in Eastern Standard Time (EST) you can choose your time zone.

Booking by Email

(For those who prefer not to use online booking)

If you are not comfortable using the online system, you can book a session via email.

📩 How to Book by Email:

  1. Send me an email at [your email address] with the time period you are looking for (e.g., mornings, afternoons, or evenings).

  2. I will reply with available dates and times that match your request.

  3. Confirm your appointment by responding to my email.

Booking During Your Appointment

If you prefer, we can book your next session at the end of our appointment. I will offer available times, and you can confirm what works best.

Options for Virtual & In-Person Sessions

Virtual Sessions

Virtual therapy allows you to attend sessions from the comfort of your own space. Sessions take place through JaneApp, a secure, encrypted video platform that protects your privacy.

 

Preparing for a Virtual Session:

  • Choose a quiet, private location where you won’t be disturbed.

  • Ensure sound does not carry—placing a white noise machine or fan outside your door can help.

  • A laptop or tablet is preferred for video quality, but a phone can be used if necessary. If using a phone, please prop it up in a stationary position so your hands remain free.

  • Headphones or earbuds can help reduce sound echo and improve audio clarity, but they are optional.

  • You will receive a reminder email with your session link:

    • 2 days before your appointment

    • 2 hours before your appointment

📌 If you experience technical difficulties, please reach out before your session so we can troubleshoot together.

In-Person Sessions

For those who prefer face-to-face interaction, in-person sessions are available in London, Ontario.

 

What to Expect When Arriving for an In-Person Session:

  • If there is another client’s car in the laneway, please wait until they have left before coming in.

  • The space is designed to be private and comfortable to support your session.

  • If you need accommodations (e.g., mobility concerns, sensory needs, etc.), please let me know in advance, and I’ll do my best to ensure the space works for you.

If you prefer, we can book your next session at the end of our appointment. I will offer available times, and you can confirm what works best.

Length of Sessions & What to Expect

Session Length

  • Each session is 60 minutes long.

  • At the 55-minute mark, we will conclude and book your next appointment if needed.

 

What to Expect in Your First Session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. We will:

  • Discuss your goals, concerns, and what you’d like to focus on.

  • Review any intake paperwork (if not already completed).

  • Talk about how therapy works and what you can expect moving forward.

 

If you feel overwhelmed by the intake form, fill out what you can, and we will go over the rest together in session.

Ongoing Sessions

  • Each session is guided by your needs—there is no one-size-fits-all approach.

  • You are welcome to bring in specific topics, emotions, or challenges you want to explore.

  • We will work together to develop strategies and coping tools that support your well-being.

Frequenty Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I switch between virtual and in-person sessions?

  • Yes! You are welcome to switch between virtual and in-person sessions based on your needs.

  • If you normally attend in-person but need to switch to virtual for a session, simply let me know in advance, and I will send you the JaneApp video link.

  • If you normally attend virtually and want to switch to in-person, please confirm availability for in-person slots before your session.

What if I need to reschedule?

If you need to reschedule your appointment, you have a few options:

  1. Reschedule through JaneApp:

    • Log in to innersojourn.janeapp.com.

    • Go to "Upcoming Appointments."

    • Select your session and choose "Reschedule."

    • Pick a new available time and confirm your booking.

  2. Email me at PattiBroadfoot@protonmail.com with your availability, and I will send you options.

  3. Reschedule at your current session—we can book your next appointment before you leave.
